It’s been a minute but we’re back like we never left! The Warped Tour dates w/ Code of the Cutz, One Be Lo and the Massive Monkees were a success. We’ve got New Shows! A new MaGestiK LeGenD song is featured on Nick Speed’s new “D-Tour” mixtape, be sure to check it out. If you’re reading this you should have the New Album. There is also a clean version available for download now. The FREE MAGESTIK LEGEND project is getting positive Reviews and even a few Podcasts in its’ honor! The most consistent response we are receiving is “This album is amazing!! But why is it free?!? How can I support??” In fact here is a direct quote from a supporter and an answer from Magestik Legend…

Jayne Marie says:
“…If you giving it away free… what’s your plan? Are you gonna sell it? Is this free thing like a temporary hook or gimmick? Or are you “for real” for real giving the whole album away, forever, free, period?I’m trynna understand. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you know I appreciate the free album, but how can we help you? What do you want us to do that could help you? What do you really want? Where do you want your music to go… and how do we help you get there?

Love this album btw. :) ”

Magestik says : “First off, thanks for the feedback and concern. Yes the album is FREE “for real” for real….for real. Its not temporary or a gimmick. This album was the result of a change in my mind state and approach. My new focus is the growth of good music. Since music, especially hip-hop, has such an incredible influence on this generation and generations to come. I feel like I have a big responsibility to harp on more than just dollar signs. Don’t get me wrong…we all need money! We all love money! But I feel that “get rich quick” strategies are whats killing the music industry now. Those strategies belittle the importance of “the music” and “the listener”. So my goals are to make timeless music and to make sure the fan/consumer/supporter understand their importance of their position. The “Industry” is not in control of the music…the Fans are! Good music cannot exist without support. So the album is really just a play on that concept. If I was unjustly locked up, the people that support me would be writing petitions, picketing and doing whatever they could to get me out of jail. This is the relationship I aim to build with “the listener”. I am here for you! I make music from my experiences, my environment, and my influences. So that hopefully you can relate to me, party with me, vent with me, or just simply be inspired to keep pushing.

If you love the music I make, me–and independent artists like me–really need YOU to support what YOU love or it won’t exist.

What can you do?

Roll ten deep to the shows, write the labels, write the magazines, call the radio stations, support the releases, give us feedback, tell us what you want to see, pass the word etc. Keep the music you love alive!

I hope that I answered your questions. Sorry for the lengthy response. And thanks again for reaching out!

StayConnected!!!

Peace Be With You…

ML”

Until next time…Stay Strong.!!! We have a lot more in store for you.
